Bullets bounce. Bank shots score double.
Ricochet Arena is a complete, server-authoritative multiplayer arena shooter built on Unity 6 and Photon Fusion 2. It is ready to play, ready to reskin, and written to be read.
Try it in your browser: play the web demo above (Practice vs Bots, no install).
Description
PLAY IT IN ONE CLICK
- Practice vs Bots runs a full match offline through Fusion’s single-player mode
- Same authority rules as online play, no account and no App Id needed
WHAT’S IN THE BOX
- 4 weapons: Basic Blaster, Repeater, Scatter, Railgun
- 6 modes: Duel, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Last Man Standing, Gun Game, King of the Hill
- 4 neon arenas, each with its own theme, spawns and pickups
- Power-ups: Health, Shield, Speed, Bounce+
- Bots on three difficulty levels that aim with the real projectile simulation, so they bank their shots, and pathfind to pickups and the hill
- Final-shot replay, results screen and a map vote (rematch or the next map)
- Spectator camera for eliminated players
MULTIPLAYER DONE PROPERLY
- Host-authoritative: clients send input only and cannot claim hits, kills, ammo or score
- 2 to 8 players: match browser, Quick Match, private room codes, region select
- Automatic reconnect: a dropped player rejoins with their score and team
- The map changes inside the running session; nobody rejoins
- Headless dedicated host: one command-line flag turns a desktop build into a server
- Tested over a real network: a PlayMode test joins a headless host as a client
EVERY PLATFORM
- Keyboard and mouse, gamepad, and touch with twin sticks and safe-area layout
- Desktop and Android builds; a one-click WebGL demo build for itch.io or your own site
MADE TO BE CHANGED
- Weapons, maps, modes and colours are ScriptableObjects. Add one and it appears in the menu, with no code
- Map authoring tools: place walls, spawns and pickups in a scene, then bake it into data
- The UI is plain uGUI prefabs, one per screen, so restyle it in the prefab editor
- Swap the orb for your own character model (guide included)
- Setup wizard, asset generator and a project validator that finds broken references
CODE YOU CAN TRUST
- Gameplay rules live in a Fusion-free core assembly, covered by 127 EditMode tests
- PlayMode tests play whole matches: offline, spectating, map vote, and a real two-peer match
- A full developer guide explains the authority model and the reasoning behind each piece, not just how to use it
REQUIREMENTS
- Unity 6 (6000.0+), Universal Render Pipeline
- Photon Fusion 2. It is free but not included (Photon does not allow redistribution); import it from the Asset Store or photonengine.com. Online play needs a free Photon App Id
- Input System package
No third-party art, so there is nothing to license: the visuals are generated from code and data, and the sounds are synthesised.
